Full Wolf Moon

Photograph of the Wolf Moon

Stepping out last night in time for the February Wolf Moon.  The name Wolf moon comes from Native American Indians. The moon is also known as the Old Moon, and the Celts called it the Moon of Ice which fits in nicely with the pagan description as the Snow Moon.  It was one of those moments when I dashed back indoors to grab a camera and a lens. I came out with a Canon 7D and a Canon EF 100 – 400mm L (probably not the best tools for a moon shot) but still managed to capture it in full glory.

  1. Hi Elizabeth, actually no tripod at all and it was cold too. The shot is steady probably owng to the fact that I was feeling quite relaxed and very tired when I took it – makes a bit of a difference when your mind is numb 😉
